Questions and Answers
Common questions about registering, auctions, payments, and more.
1 How do I register?
Use Sign Up (also in the main menu). Create your account with a valid email and password, then complete any profile steps you are prompted for.
2 How do I sell my horse on the auction?
Start from Sell My Horse and follow the listing flow for auctions. Current auction sections are under Auctions. If you are unsure which section applies, contact us.
3 How do I buy a horse on the auction?
4 How does payment work?
At checkout, available payment options (e.g. card or manual EFT where offered) are shown for that purchase. For billing and buyer/seller obligations, see our Terms & Conditions and related policies. Contact us if you need help with a specific payment.
5 What happens if my horse does not sell on the auction?
If a lot does not meet reserve or receives no qualifying bids, it typically remains unsold for that run. You can often relist or explore other sale options (for example marketplace horses or sell privately via Buy That Horse). Exact rules depend on the auction section—contact us with your listing details.
6 Where else can I sell my horse?
Besides auctions, you can use Add Listing to create a Listing for marketplace-style listings, and explore options from Sell My Horse and Marketplace.
7 How do I price my horse?
Base your asking price or reserve on training level, age, health and soundness, competition or breeding record, and similar horses on the market. We can help you think it through—contact us with photos and background for guidance.
8 What courses do you offer?
Browse Services for professionals and training-related listings, and Articles for reads and resources. If you are looking for something specific, contact us.

10 How do I book a viewing on a horse I want to bid on?
Clients must contact Buy That Horse directly to book a viewing on an auction horse—do not message or phone the seller yourself or arrange a viewing outside our process. Use Book a Viewing (or related services) under Auctions where available, or contact us with the horse’s name, lot or URL, and your preferred times. Viewings are subject to seller availability and auction rules.
11 How do I arrange a vetting on a horse I want to bid on?
Clients must contact the Buy That Horse team directly to arrange vetting on an auction horse they want to bid on—do not message or phone the seller yourself or set up a vet visit outside our process. Contact us (or use Book a Vetting under Auctions where offered) with the horse’s details, lot or URL, and your vet’s details. Appoint a vet you trust for the pre-purchase examination and allow enough time for the report before the auction closes if possible.
12 How long do I have to move the horse I bought on the auction?
Collection and transport timeframes depend on the terms shown on that auction listing and our Terms & Conditions. After you win a lot, follow any instructions in your confirmation email or contact us to agree handover dates.
